We are very supportive of this change to the regulation.
In addition to Class A customers, we would like this change to apply to all electricity customers in Ontario (residential, commercial).
This will give consumers choice to procure electricity from local, Ontario-made sources like solar and wind. This will support economic development in the province, by investing capital in electricity generating infrastructure, supporting local jobs across the province in construction and maintenance, and improve Ontario's energy independence.
As our economy grows and electric vehicles and heat pumps become more common, Ontario is going to need to generate more electricity. Allowing other sectors of the economy to participate in virtual net metering will help us to meet those electricity demands, in a way that grows our economy and benefits our residents.
Thank you.
