The site is located approximately 2.5 kilometres southeast of Athens.
The site is Aggregate Resources Act (ARA) licence No. 3967.

A change to ARA Licence No. 3967 was approved by the Director on June 28th, 2024.
The approval allows G. Tackaberry and Sons Construction Company Limited to increase the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in a calendar year from 300,000 tonnes annually to 900,000 tonnes annually. This increase addresses the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

No (0) comments were received in response to the Environmental Registry notice.
One (1) comment was received through the ARA consultation process from United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
The concerns were related to increased rate of truck traffic.
The concerns were addressed with submission of the Traffic Impact Study.
