Détails de la décision
On July 30, 2019 a new Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility was issued to Lafarge Canada Inc., for a grinding terminal. Approval is granted for operations including grinding, drying, and material handling. Emissions to the air include particulate matter, ingredients of cementitious products and products of combustion.
The ECA with Limited Operational Flexibility (Air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the ECAwith Limited Operational Flexibility (Air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
The ECA issued on July 30, 2019 contained clerical errors, a new ECA was issued on August 9, 2019. Both documents are attached here for transparency.
Effets de la consultation
Comments related to continued ambient monitoring, suppression of dust, and assessment of metal emissions.
The District Office has confirmed that the ambient monitoring in the area, including downwind of the facility, will continue.
Dust suppression requirements are included in the ECA.
The company was required to assess emissions of all expected contaminants including any metals, and no excedance of the air standards in O.Reg. 419/05 was predicted.
