Cap and trade is rooted in years of effective use of market forces to adapt to change and phase out of environmentally damaging substances. Similar programs were used as part of the phase out of ozone depleting substances and sulphur dioxide emissions, Climate change is a reality and it is irresponsible to cancel this programme without extensive public consultation in unison with presentation of an alternative plan.
Please do not play divisive politics with our future.
