We here at Forests Ontario, together with our partners, plant ~ 2.5 million trees in Ontario on an annual basis. We want to work more closely with the Ministry on better planting practices to help mitigate against wildfire. This would include lowering fuel loads closer to residential areas by incorporating shrubs and deciduous species. We would like to be part of firesmart conversations and promotion collectively. Together working in communities, we feel we could help ease the public fear of wildland fire by educating and promoting best practices.
