I am writing to advocate for the urban boundary expansion in Norfolk County. This expansion is crucial for bringing in modern services, upgrading our infrastructure, and boosting our tax base. Unfortunately, former MPP Toby Barrett has been actively spreading falsehoods about this project, likely driven by a personal animosity toward the current provincial government. He, along with the current MPP, has been instilling unnecessary fear among the residents of Norfolk County through social media channels. Even though Toby has erased much of his misleading posts from his public accounts, he continues his fearmongering within private social media groups. Additionally, an analysis of social media comments shows that most detractors are not farmers. In my conversations, I have yet to meet a farmer who is worried about this matter.
