I am a long time resident of Farlain Lake which is a land locked, groundwater fed lake. The Regional Sanitation field is within 300 metres up hill from Farlain Lake and very close to several artesian wells which are the headwaters of the lake's only continuous flowing stream into the lake. I am not sure if any testing has been done, but I feel a more thorough study should be done on the potential effects of the run off reaching Farlain Lake as it is so close and in Farlain Lake's watershed. I am wondering if any regular testing of Farlain Lake water quality has been done with regards to the sewage dumping. There are many cottagers on this lake who draw the water from the lake for their household use and of course many who love to swim and enjoy this lake and hope to do so in the future.
As you may be aware it is interesting to note that summer 2022 there was blue green algae reported at Farlain lake directly down from the sewage field.

Another concern is the fact that Midland is now going to refuse to accept Tiny's sewage at their waste treatment plant so there may even be an increase in the amount of sewage dumped at this site so close to Farlain Lake.

On another note, of course the residents along Andrew Drive on Farlain Lake have to smell the septage every time the wind blows in that direction.
In conclusion, I do not think it is environmentally safe to have a septage field so close to a spring fed lake unless an in depth study has been done showing that it has no effect on the water quality of Farlain Lake.
Thank you for considering this very important matter.
