In light of the climate change we are experiencing as a result of our emissions, it is irresponsible to cancel the existing Cap and Trade legislation until a new program has been properly designed. The current approach of canceling the legislation is a backwards step, and will result in unnecessary pollution and negative impact on both our climate and the clean jobs industry. A more productive approach would be to develop a new climate plan with targets for Ontario to become carbon neutral within the next 35 years, with specific metrics across areas such as transportation, climate change, energy efficiency and transportation.
