The province needs to realise that there is other applicable law than the Planning Act or Zoning By-laws. The Ontario Building code requires minimum distances between buildings for the regulation of glazing and fire transfer between buildings. Allowing two buildings to be four meters, permits almost no glazing What existing house do you know of that has no glazing on the rear elevation? This legislation is permitting something that in most cases is not possible. Instead of throwing legislation out that doesn't work, try speaking with experts in the building industry. Your local building officials are are great start. DO BETTER.
