It's anti-democratic and a gross overstep of the province to determine bike lane infrastructure installed and governed by municipalities.
Climate change is happening and we need to encourage people to get on bikes and take transit and walk where it's safe to do so instead of driving. Encouraging more cars to be on the road and creating more traffic only worsens the climate AND the health of the people of Ontario.
There are numerous studies from across the world that show the economic & health benefits of biking and bike lanes. We need more of them. We cannot afford it on any level to remove or discourage the construction of new bike infrastructure.
