We need to take drastic measures and do what is required to save our planet. This year has been a record breaking year of natural disasters all over the world. Wildfires, hurricanes, mudslides, erupting of a volcano and others have been more devastating and lasted longer than before. We need to save our planet and all life it sustains. It is time we are part of the solution and stop being the problem. I do not support any attempts by the government to cancel any climate change saving measures, such as cancelling the Cap and Trade policy. In fact, we should be doing more. As part of the Climate agreement that was made at he Paris Accord talks, we agreed to be leaders of climate change ad reduce carbon emissions. We should be ashamed of ourselves if we don't as we have the capacity to do so. We all need to do out part to combat climate change, which includes making those who contribute by way of business responsible to help fix the problem they create. More and more, I am getting more concerned that our future generations will not be fortunate enough to watch a beautiful sunset, see monarch butterflies soaring through wild flowers, see a blue sky or be lucky enough to see a polar bear and her baby cubs as they are dying and starving to death because the sea ice they hunt on is disappearing at alarming rates. We need to STOP the DESTRUCTION and start making changes while we still have the opportunity to do so. I recently read an article about a gathering in Thunder Bay O.N. that had to do with climate change and ways to combat it. An elder spoke about this issue in the aspect of things he had witnessed over his lifetime. He spoke about changes in the positioning of the sun and other observations as he had once lived of the land and has grave concerns for the future of the planet. I have spoken to other people who have claimed to be able to speak to animals and having animals tell them how hard it is getting to raise their young if they live off and in the water because of so many contaminents in the water. A lot of them die as the pools of healthy water continues to diminish. Regardless of what our belief systems are , the point is the signs of climate change are all around us. We just have to learn to listen and take action.
