The problem is too many cars. Bike lanes reduce congestion by providing an alternative to driving your car.
If you want to reduce congestion then implement road pricing. It will prevent needless single occupancy car trips and promote car pooling.
Pricing can be increased during peak hours to facilitate better mobility during working hours.
Our roads are becoming increasingly dangerous for everyone due to aggressive drivers. Blaming cyclists for congestion is putting people’s lives at risk. This type of politics is shameful.
