The key to reducing congestion is to reduce the number of cars on the road. We can do this by incentivizing people to walk, bike, or take public transit. Furthermore, having people who engage in active transportation results in better health outcomes, and is better for the environment. Rather than eliminate bike lanes and increase road capacity for cars, our tax money should be used to promote and facilitate active transportation.
