For all the people whose lives have already been affected by the floods, fires and storms including the 6 tornados that destroyed homes and businesses in Kinburn, Dunrobin, Ottawa and Gatineau Friday, September 21st, I am advocating that the current Ontario Government to reject the climate cancellation bill, Bill 4 and replace it with the following actions and events.
A real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy; and
The Government of Ontario to:
Put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of
Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint;
Create legally binding emission targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement;
To have Ontario 100% percent powered by clean energy by 2050; and finally;
To end the subsidies and handouts to fossil fuel companies, redirecting this money into clean energy solutions.
