I am a resident of Adelaide…

I am a resident of Adelaide Township. We have two children and live on the family farm. My husband is also a small business owner. We love our township and our community. We support the school in our township aswell as the businesses. Adelaide township is very diverse. It includes businesses, towns, farms, woodlands and the Sydenham River. It is a great place to live. However, we do not support the Ontario Land Tribunal’s decision to approve a biosolids facility on Kerwood Road in our township. We are concerned that the people who wish to put this facility on this piece of land do not reside in Adelaide Township. Yes, they own the land but live elsewhere. Why do they not put this facility in their own back yards? We are concerned about what this type of facility will do to businesses in the area, two in particular. We are concerned about the odour it will omit and therefore affecting landowners. We are very concerned with the run off from the bio solids into the neighbouring Sydenham River. None of the plans that I have read make this site suitable for such a facility. I would highly recommend that the Ontario Land Tribunal reevaluate this plan and find a more suitable location elsewhere.
