Thank you for the opportunity to be able to comment on Bill 4, The Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018.

This is a very short-sighted action in my opinion. Every day we are hearing even worse news about the terrible shape our world is in and the impact that could be felt within my lifetime (and I'm 67 years of age)! No, it is not comfortable to have to take the steps necessary to ensure that we change things so that the devastation of our planet does not continue to accelerate.
Repealing Cap and Trade without an alternative strategy, basically saying "trust us" to do the right thing, is arrogant and pandering to those who oppose anything that might cause them a little pain while not caring what the consequences are for the future and the greater good. It's all about me.
You won't have to clean up the mess you left behind but your children will have to. For their sake do not repeal the carbon tax and the environmental initiatives that it supported.
