The Bloor-Annex BIA have come out against the removal of bike lanes on Bloor St.
120 physicians and researchers from UoT have written letters opposing the removal of any bike lanes in Toronto.
The Ontario Professional Planners Institute has issued a statement outlining the fact that the proposed removal of bike lanes will not improve congestion.
By moving forward with this process, with absolutely no evidence that it will improve the flow of traffic, you are:
1. Endangering people who commute and earn a living on bicycles.
2. Further impede traffic with all the construction to remove the bike lanes.
3. Waste taxpayer money by constructing useless bike lanes on indirect routes.
4. Not improve congestion because cyclists will continue to use arterial roads and just take a whole lane when cycling as that is the safest method for them to ride.
