The removal of bike lanes will reduce the safety of all cyclists since they act as visual barriers to protect all parties from injury or possible death. Removing these bike lanes would also likely cause even more congestion in these arterial roads because by removing bike lanes, it would force cyclists to move onto main traffic lanes which would result in major slowdowns.
