With the heavy duty vehicle emissions program, thought should be given to frequency and duration of use, as well as size and scope of the sector, so as to differentiate between the sectors with implementation.
Example:
The agricultural sector will have minimal frequency and duration of use of the heavy duty vehicles compared to other sectors. Further, the number of farms and farm operators are continuing to decrease on an already challenging sector. See statistics below:
http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/stats/agriculture_summary.htm
Further consultation should occur with OMAFRA on this, so there is no negative impacts to the agricultural sector.
I look forward to this being incorporated into the provincial government's decision on this.
