The auditor general's report did not endorse eliminating the light duty vehicle testing. Instead, it suggested "formally analyze the impact of excluding all light-duty vehicles except those in the 10 larger municipalities in the Windsor–Quebec
City corridor."
While, I support reducing unnecessary regulation. I also support smart and necessary regulation. The current proposed change does not seem to do enough to regulate the light duty vehicles that do, indeed, require close observation. Please give further thought to the changes and seek a better model for regulating the necessary subset of light duty vehicles in accordance with the recommendations of the auditor general.
