It is ridiculous to get red of bike lanes that have just been constructed, using the city’s budgetary funds. This bill unjustifiably overreaches the Province’s authority to take control of inherently local municipal matters. I have contacted my MPP about this bill and the governments plans, only to be ironically told that bike lines is a municipal matter.
This bill will produce unnecessary red tape for all municipalities, punishing them by limiting their planning abilities. This bill demonstrates a strong disconnect between those creating legislation, MPPs from outside Toronto, against those who live in the city and actually use the bike lanes
