I disagree with this proposal. I think the decision should rest with the people and local representatives elected to oversee transportation within that jurisdiction. The process already takes years and years with local input, environmental and traffic studies and city/town planning based on the needs of those citizens. This seems like more centralized bureaucracy and red tape that the Ford Government promised to eliminate and cut. Put the choices into the hands of the people who are best positioned to understand the microcosm of the street, ward, and district.
