I am strongly in agreement on extending the moratorium. I cannot understand how it is allowed that corporations are allowed to bottle water in single serving size plastic water bottles at the ridiculously low water rates that they are charged.
They are depleting the water table, selling a public resource for profit. In addition the environmental consequences are horrendous. Nestlé's alone produced 7 billion single use water bottles per year!
What happens to these bottles. 10 to 20 percent are recycled at a large cost to municipalities all over the earth. The rest are in landfills or watersheds and oceans, polluting us all.
This is not a business model it is an example of how large multinational corporations take public resources and profit from them while degrading our environments and leaving the clean up costs and health implications to others.
Shameful.
Should be outlawed.
