I am opposed to this proposed legislation to restrict bike lane development in municipalities. It is the total opposite of what is needed. Bike lane infrastructure provides safe and climate friendly modes of transportation. A good system of bike infrastructure will mean less cars in the road. This and good reliable public transportation are what is needed to reduce gridlock. Back off and let municipal govts plan the infrastructure that they determine aid needed. I haven’t heard of any international city renowned for roads but cities with efficient networks of public transportation, pedestrian friendly egress and bike friendly infrastructure are what make great cities livable.
