The White Pines project has been approved by the same same ministry now proposing regulations to stop the project and take it down. How does the ministry deal with this hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance.
The Project has been approved by the Ministry and should be built .
What are the environmental impacts/ benefits of taking down the project? Has there been an Environmental Assessment of this proposal including the CO2 emissions of construction and deconstruction as well as the loss of Green electricity? Will the Blanding's turtles be placed under more stress and danger for the deconstruction activities now than if performed 20 years later? Without an EA being performed I suspect that the project deconstruction is negative to the environment.
The proposal is very negative to the Ontario Economy as it suggests that the Government is ideologically motivated and will change contracts at will.
The cancellation and deconstruction activities must include fair and full compensation to the Proponent.
