I believe most strongly that this proposal should be extended and indeed increased. Bottlers should be charged a realistic amount for the water they take and sell at great profit. People who insist on purchasing bottled water, when safe, clean water is available from a tap, should also be charged a deposit on the bottles to offset the cost of unnecessary garbage and litter. One time use of plastic should be curtailed for such a useless objective. Many other provinces charge a deposit for water bottles and one time use food containers. Time for Ontario to catch up to current environmental problems and force some solutions.
