Bike lanes should be a municipal issue. The provincial governments can guide municipalities, but shouldn't force their hand on these issues. The provincial government should instead focus on education and health care. Ripping out existing bike lanes is a waste of money. Bike lanes reduce congestion by giving drivers an alternative, thus reducing the number of cars on the road. I'm a driver, and I would actually like to see more bike lanes so I can feel safe going on small trips with my family in my local community
