The Ford government says …

The Ford government says “Ontario is open for business” but who would want to do business here? The Ontario government cancels contracts with companies that have projects near completion (like the White Pines Wind Project in Prince Edward County). I don’t know how you could entice any business to come to Ontario when we have now earned a reputation for failing to honour signed contracts! The White Pines Wind Project is in our community & has employed many local people for the past 8 months. The landowners were depending on the revenue from their leases for the next 20 years. This is unacceptable & destructive to a community that badly needs employment. The 750 cancelled renewable energy projects (many on First Nations land) would have been a valuable addition to the fight against climate change, as well as employment in some seriously depressed areas of our province. With respect, I urge you to stop the cancellation & dismantling of the White Pines Wind Project.
