I object to the Provincial government's proposal contained within Bill 212 that would enable provincial approval for new bike lanes on municipal roads requiring removal of a traffic lane.
I work for a municipal government and know the thoroughness that the local government undertakes in determining traffic plans. The authority to determine these plans should remain at the grass roots level with the local government.
I am quite surprised that the current government with its own Ministry of Red Tape Reduction, would take on an exercise that clearly adds lots of red tape.
Please remove any reference to controlling and removing bike lanes from Bill 212.
thank you.
