As I'm sure several commenters have pointed out, the idea to remove bike lanes that were just installed is poorly thought out. Anyone who passes by these bike lanes knows that they are well used and if these lanes are removed causing cyclists to share the space with cars they will be injured and it will be a nuisance for drivers. It is a lose-lose situation for everyone except for the contractors who will be paid to remove this valuable infrastructure. What a genuine waste of taxpayer resources and an overstep on the part of the provincial government.
