I write as a frequent driver on many of the Toronto streets with bike lanes threatened with removal through Bill 212 (Bloor and University in particular). I have not experienced any negative effects from the installation of the bike lanes. The only change has been easier and safer driving in the absence of bicycles in the roadway.
We cannot rely solely on automobiles for transportation. The infrastructure we need will support bicycles, public transit and pedestrians.
I would like to remind the Premier that he is not the mayor of Toronto.
