I am a cyclist in Ontario. I don’t want to die on the road. Bike lanes, particularly protected bike lanes save lives. The more people feel safe biking, the less congested our roads will be.
Cars occupied by only a single person create traffic. Investment in efficient transit, and infrastructure to encourage active transportation is the answer to gridlock.
Removing bike lanes is the wrong answer to the problem of traffic congestion.
