It is wrong for the Ontario government to remove bike lanes in Toronto. This is a contravention of local democracy and for this reason alone, will do more harm than good.
Also, the proposed changes by Doug Ford are not based on any evidence, but is a divisive political move.
Bike lanes are an important part of Toronto's transportation plan -- Toronto is growing rapidly and needs to expand all methods of transportation.'
Another issue is cyclist safety. Cyclists have rights too, they are not 2nd class citizens, and deserve their safe space on our roads.
Finally, it is a waste of money to remove these bike lanes -- money that could be much better spent elsewhere.
