Ontario needs to manage its water resources wisely, including its acquifers. To let Nestle abstract millions of liters of water every day - and from wells that are being claimed by local communities - is unwise and unfair. Instead, I very much hope that Ontario can act thoughtfully and in the interest of future generations by extending the moratorium for another year (ideally, indefinitely), by properly mapping groundwater resources, and by making sure our water is not sold for profit.
Also: Why would Ontario let Nestle bottle its precious water if cities in Canada are considering single-us plastic bans? It is well known that many plastic bottles, in fact the majority, never get recycled!
Please make a decision that is wise, just, and that takes into account the rights of our children.
