All studies have determined that maintaining and promoting alternative transportation, including bike lanes, always promotes faster, safer, and smoother transport for everyone on the road, including individual motor vehicles. Encouraging, and providing opportunity for alternative transport only creates positive environmental, economic, and immediate community outcomes. Hindering the process of building more bike lanes, and removing completely serviceable lanes that already exist, is a detriment to our health in all of these areas.
There is no supporting evidence in the alternative. Removing bike lanes is actively, willfully destructive.
