This won’t reduce gridlock. This will just get the thousands of daily cyclists to start driving and that will exacerbate the problem. Either that, or you put more people at higher risk.
The real solution is to improve the public transit infrastructure. Don’t turn Toronto into another New York by making it a car-centric city. It’s already bad enough as it is.
