This bill does not actually address reducing gridlock or saving anyone time.
What is proposed here has a disproportionate impact on discouraging active transportation and reducing public safety, while also promoting the most expensive and most time consuming possible options for transportation in the province.
There seem to be missed opportunities here to address our desperate need for further rail transport, and public transportation infrastructure altogether.
The focus around removal of bike infrastructure just seems stupid, when this is one of the least costly options for communities long term, and involves wasting millions of dollars to remove existing infrastructure that already exists.
The suggested changes to land expropriation and language involving the contracts with engineers is just overtly problematic in removing people's rights.
This bill as it currently exists does not actually improve anything worthwhile. I believe this needs significant revision.
