I am commenting on the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support development at 955 Lakeshore Blvd (Ontario Place).

I am opposed to the proposal which

1/ goes against decades of work by the City of Toronto to separate and replace combined sewers across the city to prevent the discharge of sewage into Lake Ontario,

2/ counteracts international agreements to protect the water quality and habitat of the Great Lakes,

3/ is a health risk and deterrent to the residents of Toronto who use the lake for public recreational activities,

4/ will have a negative impact on tourism and visitors to Toronto who come to our lakeshore for recreational activities.

5/ is in the sole benefit of a private sector client at the expense of taxpayers, and a significantly negative impact to the economy biodiversity and environmental health of Lake Ontario.

Please stop this development, and I grad consider how best to preserve our natural resource of Lake Ontario, so that it is swimmable, drinkable and fishable for all citizens, and not the few visitors who have the privilege of visiting the Therme Spa project.
