I think this legislation is a long time coming. Having a cottage on Lake Nipissing for the past 13 years, I have seen the cormorant population grow and expand exponentially. Throughout the evening summer months, especially August and September, the cormorant flocks fly right over our cottage for and average of 45 minutes to 1 hour non-stop. The damage they cause is beyond words. A simple trip around the lake will show their damage. I welcome and hope this new legislation is passed in order to help curb the cormorant problem.
