If there is any chance that this proposal will result in raw sewage being dumped into the channel, it should be re-thought entirely. I take my kids (1 and 3 years old) to the beaches in this channel. Having grown up in toronto, it feels like a privilege to do so after the city working hard to reverse decades of disregard and recklessness towards Toronto's waterfront.
