Ontario Place Effluent:
The proposal to dump CSO effluent into the West Channel for two years because of the construction of the Therme Spa is unacceptable. My whole family, including my six-year-old granddaughter swim and play on the western beaches. My wife and I are members of the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club and we use the channel all summer long. If the Ontario government is determined to spend multi-millions of public funds to support this private enterprise, the least it can do is spend the $60 million it will take to bring the Combined Sewer Overflow out passed the breakwater where dilution will have a better chance of keeping its citizens healthy.
