The diversion of the Toronto sewers into Lake Ontario will have devastating effects on public use of the lake, the health of the people and the wildlife— the latter which are very threatened by biodiversity loss. Tourism from attraction to the lakefront’s public outdoor spaces will be lost, destroying opportunity costs for local businesses. The cost to taxpayers in the destruction of decades of infrastructure to separate sewage, and the cost of funding a spa business that lacks so much start-up capital in the first place is socially, environmentally, economically, irresponsible and shortsighted. This must be stopped
