I support a hunting season on the cormorant. I am a member of a conservation group. That group operates a fish hatchery, raising rainbow trout. The group releases the young fish into the Great Lakes. When one goes to the mouth of the river/stream post-release, we witness these birds enjoying the "fruits of our labour", gorging on the young rainbow. A lot of these birds means a lot less fish able to grow and return to their home waters at maturity to complete their life-cycle. I do enjoy the sport of fishing but find that it takes a lot longer time expenditure to catch a fish...….any fish, anywhere in Ontario. These birds need to be regulated.
