I am commenting on the proposal for the approval of interim combined sewer overflows to be constructed at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard West, in the City of Toronto, where storm water will discharge into Lake Ontario. I am vehemently opposed to the proposal.

For reasons undenounced to Ontarians, the government accelerated the timeline for the development of Therme Spa by 1 year to May 2025. As a result of this acceleration, the government now requires a 2-year temporary redirect into the West Channel - an area of Lake Ontario used by swimmers, rowers and paddlers, and wildlife.

City of Toronto already has a multi-year plan in place to deal with this issue properly.

This proposal to benefit private sector initiatives, is not in the public interest and threatens the stability of the lake ecosystem in a time of severe biodiversity loss. Please deny this permit.
