This proposal flies in the face if the last 30-40 years of reclaiming our ability to use the lake front in Toronto and surrounding areas. I remember a time when it was dangerous to swim in lake Ontario. My father contracted tetanus when he bit his lip and took a mouthful of water off of Wards island in the early '80's, due to the water pollution. I have since allowed my children to play in the water at the Toronto east end beaches. Something I would not do as a child growing up in this city. Let's work to keep our lake clean, our wildlife alive and not put anything in the Lake that we will have to process out later.
