I am submitting a comment on the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support the development at 955 Lakeshore Blvd (Ontario Place). i am opposed to the proposal that goes against decades of work by the city of Toronto to separate and replace combined sewers across the city to prevent the discharge of raw sewage into Lake Ontario. It also contravenes international agreements to protect water quality and habitat around the great lakes. This effluent also risks human health in terms of water quality at the beaches, fishing, and the quality of the lake as an attraction to Canadians and visitors from abroad. The province has failed to hold consultations with the public. The proposal to serve private sector initiatives, is not in the public interests as it threatens the lake ecosystem in a time where we are already aware of severe biodiversity loss. Please deny this permit.
