Growing up, Ontario Place was welcoming to people of all ages and attracted people to enjoy the exhibits, the grounds, Cinesphere, and beautiful setting. While investments did not keep some of the facilities running, this allowed other users and uses to flourish. Nature came back. Users of the waters, from canoes to kayaks, to swimmers and windsurfers, found new freedom.
The current Conservative government has decided, with virtually zero public input and with the expense of over two (2) BILLION taxpayer dollars, tear down the buildings and raze the natural surroundings on the land portion of Ontario Place.
And now they are set to reroute pollution so the water portion will be less usable to the public as well.
I am firmly against the re-routing of the sewer discharge, and thereby further diminishing the public's use of what remains of Ontario Place.
I appreciate this is merely a personal opinion, but as someone who used Ontario Place for many, many years, we need to stop this insanity and adding further harm to what has already been done.
