I am commenting on the environmental compliance of an infrastructure project (ministry of env# 019-9534 ) This proposal adding of a combined sewer added to discharge wastewater into Lake Ontario should be rejected. No combined sewer will be worthy of constructing here as it will only negatively impact the local environment.

The ecosystem that supports wildlife, and the environment that supports public recreation both will suffer damage.

A combined sewer with that discharges into the lake has no place being by the west islands, a prime destination for tourism and recreation that should be handled with care and not hastily made projects that include sewer water overflowing and polluting environment and ecosystems potentially damaging species habitat irreparably.
Where some species at risk being negatively impacted, the loss may not be undone.
The waterfront has been already been affected negatively by problematic combined sewer over flows and will likely continue to experience flooding related to climate change.
But regardless of the context of adding a sewer here the wastewater discharges will have a big impact on community activities with a potential to cause harm.

This area near Ontario place West Island is a spot for recreation kayaking and paddle boarding and near to rowing and canoeing areas that require hygienic environmental conditions for safe participation. Other long distance paddlers or like stand up paddle board racers train or recreate nearby. The sewer discharges pose a risk to their safety as they recreate on the water and the right to access the water.
All other people and groups also have rights to the access of the safe waterfront, but having a sewer regularly discharging here with degrade the environment for both recreation, and for species habitat. The aquatic health can be severely impacted by the discharges of sewage affecting all the aquatic life negatively.
