What’s the point of making laws to protect the environment if we just choose to change those laws whenever it’s convenient for the government in power to do so.
Who says we need to speed up the process? The government should be able to maintain the established protections and figure out how best to develop industry, housing, etc. The proposal presents itself as the only solution to a manufactured problem. It’s a lack of effort and imagination on the governments part.
