I strongly DISAGREE with this proposal. Opening a cormorant hunt exposes families, boaters and recreational users of to threats associated with shooting in wetlands. There appears to be no science supporting the proposed catch limits. In addition, there is no protection of nesting birds or colonies, which risks the incidental take and colony abandonment of other bird species, such as gulls, herons, terns. There is no prohibition on harvest of nestlings and nesting birds, and adults shot during nest rearing results in chick starvation. This is all ill-advised culling policy. I do not support this policy change.
